1. Where are you from and where do you actually live right now?
I’m from London and I still live there.
2. For those who don’t know you, can you tell us a little about yourself?
I produce under the name Glimpse and have released music on various electronic labels such as: Planet E, Cocoon, Cadenza and recently released my album on Crosstown Rebels. I also have a dog called Olek and a daughter called Lola.
3. Tell me about your musical development: what is the music you grew up with and what are the first records that really struck you?
I grew up mainly listening to blues and jazz music. Now I listen to lots of different music ranging from Afro Beat to Dub to Techno. Very few records really strike me but if I had to name on it would be Tangerine Dream’s ‘Love On A Real Train’. This track really means a lot to me, also Yello’s ‘Oh Yeah’ is a track that I completely love.
4. How did you get into electronic music?
I used to go and see Jeff Mills play when I was a teenager and got completely hooked from an early age. I love the fact that its pretty much limitless and constantly evolving. I started djing in London when I was 15 which lead to releasing my first record when I was 19. From then on I built my studio slowly and have been releasing ever since.
5. Could you describe your current studio setup and what are you making music with?
My studio is pretty much all hardware based. I use Ableton to sequence long pieces of audio recorded live on my equipment.

6. What have you been working on at the moment?
At the moment I have just finished another EP for Crosstown Rebels and an EP for Ovum both with Martin Dawson. I also have a release out on Cocoon this month.
7. What are you promoting and what gigs do you have coming up?
This month I will playing 4 gigs at Space in Ibiza, Japan tour the last week, in August playing at Womb in Tokyo and Warehouse in Nagoya and a gig for Hypercolour in Leeds.
8. Are you dj-ing or do you play live music?
I play 90% of my gigs live but do DJ sometimes as well when it is requested.
9. Your highlight and lowlight of 2009?
The highlight of the year would definitely be the birth of my daughter Lola and the lowlight sitting in airports on my own.
10. What was your favourite track in 2009 and what is you favourite track this year so far?
That’s a really tough one. There is so much great music around at the moment. I think it would have to be Marcel Dettmann & Ben Klock – ‘Scenario’.
11. What do you like to do in your spare time away from the music?
I love walking my dog and spending time with my girl friend & daughter in the park.
12. What are one thing that Glimpse is and three things he is not?
Glimspe is very happy at the moment.
Glimpse is not into David Guetta.
Glimpse is not into changing nappies.
Glimpse is not into sitting in airports.
13. What are you most proud of?
Lola and my new Jupiter 6.
14. What would you like to forget?
Every bad sound system I have ever played on.
