Per iniziare puoi dirci in che modo ti sei avvicinato alla produzione musicale ed all’arte del djing?
Dal 2007 al 2009 ho suonato il basso in una band post-rock, gli Heliopause . Quando ci siamo fermati ho deciso di esplorare altre idee personali che non avevo avuto la possibilità di sviluppare prima e gradualmente ho iniziato a registrarle. Il mio primo album ‘ Sonnewende ‘ è uscito nel gennaio 2010 su federleicht.be – la piattaforma su cui pubblico la mia musica.
Ritengo che il mio approccio alla musica sia maggiormento orientato al lato strumentale, in passato invece mi son trovato più a mio agio con la musica elettronica contemporanea . Dal 2010 ho pubblicato 9 album . Produco solo la musica , non faccio djing , e saltuariamente faccio dei liveset . Preferisco lavorare in modo anonimo , l’artwork è più importante del mio nome o dell’immagine che sta dietro di esso.
Come definiresti/descriveresti la musica che ami proporre?
Da qualche parte tra la testa e le mani.
Potresti descriverci il tuo setup in studio? Con cosa produci musica attualmente?
Ableton è il cuore della mia musica . Ho un set up molto standard e modesto . Uso una chitarra elettrica , un basso, un normale vocal -mic , alcuni effetti in aggiunta , looper , live glockenspiel , UC -33 midi , un midi a 49 tasti e qualche synth. I brani di Herbstlaub emergono da strutture strumentali , mentre quelli dell’altro mio progetto die Nachtstunde sono per lo più strutturati digitalmente.

A casa dove tutta la mia musica viene creata . Contiene un mix di diverse tracce da vari album e può essere inteso come una breve introduzione al progetto federleicht.be per i nuovi ascoltatori. Herbstlaub è il nome del mio progetto più personale e strumentale , in Die Nachtstunde pubblico tracce più ritmate e ricche di beats.
Per questo podcast ho scelto tracce più uptempo.
Su cosa stai lavorando al momento?
Sto finendo il nuovo album Die Nachtstunde’ Flüstern macht gemeinsam ‘ ( FDL # 03 ), che uscirà nella primavera del 2014 e sto preparando la release più volte rimandata di Hauch su 12 “, che sarà la mia prima release in vinile e spero di poterla pubblicare in questo 2014.
Chi o cosa è la tua maggiore ispirazione?
Letteratura ( E. Canetti , M. Frisch ) . Colore . Solitudine . Tim Hecker .

From 2007 to 2009 I played bass-guitar in a post-rock band called Heliopause. When we stopped I decided to explore further personal ideas that I hadn’t had a chance to look into before and gradually started recording them. My first album ‘Sonnewende’ was released in January 2010 on federleicht.be – the platform on which I release my music.
I guess that I approach my music from a more instrumental horizon, before I made myself more comfortable with contemporary electronic music. Since 2010 I have released 9 albums. I only produce music, no djing, and I occasionally do livesets. I prefer to work anonymously, artwork is more important than my name or image behind it.
How do you define/describe the music you make and play?
Somewhere between the head and the hands.
Could you describe your current studio setup? What are you making music with?
Ableton is the heart of my music. I have a very standard and modest setup. I use an electric guitar, bass guitar, a normal vocal-mic, some additional effects, looper, live glockenspiel, UC-33 midi, a 49 key-midi and some synths. Herbstlaub-tracks emerge out of instrumental structures, die Nachtstunde songs are mostly digitally structured.
Where did you record this podcast and what can you tell us about it?
At home – were all my music is created. It contains a mix of different tracks from various albums and may be understood as a short introduction to the project federleicht.be for new listeners. Herbstlaub is my more personal and instrumental moniker, in Die Nachtstunde I release more ‘beat-rich’ tracks. For this podcast I chose more uptempo-tracks.
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m finishing the newest die Nachtstunde album, ‘Flüstern macht gemeinsam’ (FDL#03), coming in spring 2014 and preparing the delayed release of Hauch, 12″, my first vinyl release, coming hopefully sometime in 2014 as well.

Literature (E. Canetti, M. Frisch). Color. Loneliness. Tim Hecker.
